If you haven’t heard the news, Netflix heard our pleas, and Age of Attraction season 1 got a reunion! Hosted by Nick Viall and Natalie Joy, the reunion special dropped on The Viall Files YouTube channel on April 1, and fans finally learned what went down among the cast members since filming wrapped early last summer.
The trailer showed almost all of the couples who left the Promise Room together (Theresa and John, Vanessa and Logan, Leah and Chris, Libby and Andrew, and Vanelle and Jorge) spilling on their current relationship statuses…but while Derrick was there, you might have noticed that Pfeifer was totally missing. In the first 15 seconds of the trailer, Nick even said, “It looks like Pfeifer is not here. Does anyone know where she is?”
In the Age of Attraction finale, Pfeifer told Derrick that she was ready to take the leap and move from Seattle to Dallas to be with him and his kids…but (spoiler alert!), things didn’t exactly go according to plan.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Derrick was asked whether Pfeifer had taken that next step yet and moved to Dallas, to which he replied, “That’s a negative for us. It didn’t happen…I’m no longer with Pfeifer.”
Later, during the official reunion, Derrick gave a few more deets, revealing that Pfeifer ultimately decided moving from Seattle to Dallas was “too much” for her, so they split just about a month after filming.
That answers one question, but another one still remains: Why did Pfeifer skip the Age of Attraction reunion taping? From the looks of her social media activity, she was seemingly on a trip to Japan during all of the press, which is perhaps why she missed out. However, when a fan slid into her TikTok comments to ask about her absence ahead of the reunion, Pfeifer replied, “I can talk more on this after it airs on april 1st!” which felt…cryptic.
That said, she did shut down the rumors that she unfollowed the rest of the Age of Attraction cast so…hopefully there’s no bad blood.
Once the reunion dropped, Pfeifer took to TikTok to give her own post-show update, revealing that she is now dating someone new. Her mystery man surprised her with that recent trip to Japan, so she was actually away with him while the reunion was filmed…but I get the feeling she wouldn’t have taken part in it even if she was available.
Luckily, it seems like she and Derrick are still on good terms despite things not working out!
